The Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive/Promoting Interoperability Program is a federal program administered by states to provide financial incentives to eligible Medicaid professionals and hospitals for the adoption and meaningful use of certified EHR technology.

Participation in the program is voluntary. Program enrollment was closed to new participants after 2016, but current participating providers can still receive payments (up to six maximum annual payments) until the program sunsets in 2021.
